My husband and I are fond of Japanese food. Well, not only their food but also their country, culture, people, and so on. We really wanted to visit Japan one of these days but for now, we could just watch J-drama, study Nihongo, and savor Japanese food :-D
Our dinner tonight is Tempura Soba. It's another first time for me but eating in different Japanese restaurants helps me appreciate their food and makes it easier for me to decode the recipes. As for the ingredients, I'm using what's available in our nearby market and grocery store.
Ingredients Used:
Oil
Soba Noodles
Tempura and Noodles Sauce
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup ice cold water
1 whole white onion, sliced
6 pcs. Okra
6 pcs. Prawns, beheaded, peeled, deveined
Procedure:
Put soba noodles in boiling water. Once tender, simply add Tempura and Noodle Sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Prepare the tempura batter by mixing the flour, egg, salt, and pepper. Dip the prawns, okra, and white onion in the batter, make sure all areas are well coated.
Put the pan in high heat and add oil. Deep fry the battered prawns, okra, and white onion until golden brown. Drain excess oil in paper towel.
Assemble the noodles and tempura. Put enough soba noodles and soup in a bowl. Place the ebi tempura and vegetable tempura on top.
