Japanese-style Chicken Curry

Today, I'm sharing with you this easy Japanese-style chicken curry recipe that I prepared for approximately 30 minutes.

Ingredients:
  • 1 garlic, chopped
  • 2 onions, thickly sliced
  • 1 tomato, cut into chunks
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 potato, cut into chunks
  • 1 carrot, cut into chunks
  • 1 green chili (optional), cut into four pieces
  • 1/2 chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 1/2 cubes Golden Curry
  • 1 1/2 bowl of water
  • salt
  • pepper
  • olive oil

Procedure:
1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Add the olive oil (or any cooking oil) in the pan and sear the chicken in high heat. I used the chicken breast part of the chicken that is why I did not want to fully cook the chicken at this step because it will become tough. We wanted tender and moist chicken. When you see that all sides of the chicken have turned white and just started to brown, remove it from the pan and set aside. It will continue cook through by its self with the residual heat.

2. Remove any excess oil from the pan and leave just enough for sautéing. In medium heat, sauté the garlic and onions. Then add the vegetables - carrots, tomatoes and potatoes. Continue stirring. Then add the chicken. Stir very well to distribute the flavors.

3. Add the bell pepper and water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until chicken and potatoes tender. Add 1 1/2 cubes of the Golden Curry and stir very well to dilute it. The sauce will start to thicken... you're almost done. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix in the optional green chilli if you want to give it a little kick. Serve with steamed rice and enjoy! Serves 4-5 persons.
